What are Mood Good pieces made from?

Mood Good pieces are brass with a thick plating (either real 18k Gold or Silver). The rings have a 3 micron thick plating and the pendants have a 2 micron thick plating (on a silver/gold filled chain and with silver/gold filled clasps and jump rings). Each product has a detailed description of its composition and scale, so do check this before purchasing for more information.

Can I have a piece made in a different metal or plating colour?

Most probably yes - Drop us an email specifying what you would like and we will let you know!

Can I have a different size in this ring?

We currently only offer 1 size in each of our rings (see the individual product descriptions to know the sizing), however if you would like a different size to that stated, we can arrange this as a bespoke piece - Please drop us an email if this is something you are interested in!

How can I care for my Mood Good jewellery?

All of our jewellery is either silver or gold plated (unless otherwise stated in the product description). All jewellery is prone to tarnishing and wear, however you can keep your piece looking fab for as long as possible by taking extra care when wearing, storing and cleaning it. Firstly, it is important to avoid it coming into contact with chemicals such as cosmetic products and chlorine, which can cause tarnishing and erosion. Extra care should always be taken when cleaning plated jewellery to protect the top layer from being worn away or scratched. Also note that jewellery should be stored in separate pouches or boxes to prevent pieces rubbing, getting tangled and scratching against one another. There is a wealth of information on Google about how to care for plated jewellery, so if you would like more information please do look there! Over time, due to natural wear and tear, items of jewellery may need to be professionally polished, repaired, re-plated or re-conditioned. we are happy to help with any reconditioning requests, please email us on for a quote.

Will the plating wear off my piece of jewellery?

Mood Good pieces are plated with a good quality and thick plating (either real 18k Gold or Silver). If the piece is cared for appropriately, the plating will last for a very long time. Tarnishing is the most detrimental thing that can happen to speed up the erosion of plating, please see below questions for more information about tarnishing and how to avoid it!

Will my piece of jewellery tarnish?

Tarnishing occurs when the surface of metal comes into contact with certain damaging chemicals. These chemicals can be in anything from soaps, cosmetics, perfume and even some peoples sweat. Unfortunately it is really hard to predict what chemicals will interact with your jewellery in a negative way, so all we can advise is that you follow our care tips and try to limit the chemicals that your piece comes into contact with!

What can I do if my piece of jewellery does begin to tarnish?

We want you to enjoy wearing your Mood Good piece indefinitely, so are happy to help bring your jewellery back to its fabulous original condition for a small cost - Please email us if this is something that you are interested in and we can discuss it with you in more detail.

Can I wear my piece of jewellery in the shower/sea/pool/etc?

Wherever possible, it is best to limit the amount of chemicals that your jewellery comes into contact with, to limit the chance of tarnishing. So we would suggest removing your jewellery wherever possible in these situations, just to be on the safe side!

My piece has lost a bit of shine over time, what can I do?

The easiest way to bring the shine back is to polish the piece using a jewellery polishing cloth (they are quite cheap to purchase online and very effective), but there are also many other at home methods which you can find through Google. Just remember that the pieces are plated rather than solid gold/silver, so we don't suggest using anything too strong or abrasive, just incase it wears the plating down!

How long do Mood Good pieces take to be dispatched?

As Mood Good pieces are often made to order especially for you, it can take a maximum of 6 working days for your piece to be dispatched (this will be a lot quicker if we have it in stock!). If you need a clearer idea of when your order will be with you or want to check before ordering, please email us and we will do our best to help you. How is Mood Good Ethical and Sustainable?

All Mood Good pieces are made ethically in small workshops in London, which enables strong connections and transparency to the people making the jewellery and the processes used to make it. Using London workshops is not a cheap way of producing product, but the quality of the pieces and the peace of mind that the jewellery is coming from a positive place is invaluable. We believe in slow fashion - timeless, thoughtful design and pieces that you will wear and cherish forever, and we offer a reconditioning service (for a small, fair fee) to ensure that your piece truly can be worn forever! Mood Good packaging is also eco friendly and recyclable, and the long term goal is for the metal used in the jewellery to be recycled too, however this is still something that we are working on and is a work in process for us.
